Our Programs

Belkin House

More than 75 years ago, The Salvation Army opened Dunsmuir House (located at 500 Dunsmuir) for men in the heart of Vancouver and began its journey to be a transforming influence in the community.

In September 2004, we moved to a new location (555 Homer St.), which was built as a multi-service centre, and renamed Belkin House.

This state-of-the-art facility provides a home to the homeless and those who are at risk of homelessness. It’s a place of healing where men women and children fight against homelessness, hunger and despair. Belkin House reaches out to help people whose lives are battered and broken. Our innovative and unique programs are offered to help residents become well, whole and healed.

Belkin House hosts a variety of residential programs and houses up to 225 men, women and children. We provide a clean, safe, secure, and comfortable accommodation for those who have come down on hard times.

Grace Mansion

The Salvation Army Grace Mansion exists to provide safe, secure transitional housing to men and women in a clean and sober environment for a period of up to 24 months. Inspired by God’s love, we exist to be a transforming influence in the lives of our residents, and in our community.

Grace Mansion is a drug and alcohol free transitional housing facility comprised of 84 self-contained bachelor style units. The building is wheelchair accessible with resident lounge spaces and an open patio garden. Together, each resident and their caseworker creates a plan that fits their individual needs, such as enrolling in programs, applying for schooling and finding work. Grace Mansion is dedicated to helping residents build supports in the community and gain skills that will break the cycle of homelessness.

Richmond House

Richmond House is a pet-friendly emergency shelter that provides those experiencing homelessness temporary accommodations, meals and practical supports to community resources. Richmond House is an accessible, safe and inclusive space. Our 45-unit shelter includes a few flex rooms to accommodate those who need extra privacy, such as people who are new to homelessness, experiencing chronic or short-term illness and members of the LGBTQ2+ community who may not feel comfortable in a gender specific dorm.

Illuminate: Anti-Human Trafficking

Illuminate boldly disrupts the cycles of human trafficking by illuminating public awareness through education, providing relentless intervention strategies, creating safe spaces for Survivors to heal, and establishing networks that build back extraordinary lives for those affected in Canada. We defend and uphold the freedom and intrinsic value of all human beings as we fearlessly advocate, build bridges and challenge beliefs for new approaches to end all forms of human trafficking.

Illuminate programs are free of cost to all survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.
