Emergency Disaster Services

The Salvation Army provides practical support, hope, and healing to survivors and first responders. No matter where disaster strikes, The Salvation Army is already there with a comprehensive emergency response plan. Serving in nearly every community across Canada, The Salvation Army is there when disaster strikes and stay long after the catastrophe has passed.

Thrift Stores

The Salvation Army in Canada owns and operates all Salvation Army Thrift Stores and has done so for more than 100 years. As a non-profit organization, the funds raised by our stores through the sales of the donations we receive from our generous community members, outside of our administrative expenses, go towards supporting local Salvation Army programs and services. These include financial assistance to those in need, access to foodbanks, shelters for people experiencing homelessness, emergency disaster relief and crisis support, as well as a voucher program which allows individuals and families in need to shop for items in our stores free of charge.

Children and Youth Camps
The Salvation Army provides week-long, overnight camps and day camps. For many children and youth, camp provides an opportunity to let loose and enjoy being a kid. Campers learn new skills such as canoeing and rock climbing, as they make new friends and develop self-confidence in a positive environment.
